Ron Paul is NOT a racist.
For everyone who pulls up the newsletters to say otherwise should watch ^^this^^
Went to the grocery store and felt like a kid at Christmas. Needless to say I just ate A LOT of sugar! yummmmm. Carrot Cake and reese’s. Tonight I’m making; hot chocolate, egg nog, reese’s bars and quien sabe que más.

George is a Pinta Island Tortoise. He is the very last Pinta Island Tortoise left. He is estimated to be over 100 years old!
amazing!
Since my camera broke I haven’t been able to post any new pics :/ Fortunately it broke at the end of my trip. It’s done me good over the last 6 years and I would suggest a canon powershot to anyone!
This last weekend I ate at a couple of nice places. One of them being one of the oldest convents in Oaxaca, needless to say it was beautiful. It was a breakfast buffet which are always fun ;) I spent most of my time studying yesterday. Since I am leaving earlier than expected I have to take the test tomorrow and I had to write my first real essay in spanish! It’s about chocolate :) I had to buy another bag because my empty suitcase that I brought for gifts is spilling over.
I pray that coming home I will be ready for new things, to start a new chapter in my life. I have a lot of dreams and things I want to accomplish. I also pray desperately for Ron Paul to win this election because I know if he doesn’t, my future and the dreams I have will be that much harder, no, almost impossible, to make come true. God is faithful in all things.
Today in class we started a chapter about religion. these topics in the classroom make me anxious; my stomach begins to hurt. I would just like to write one thing: my beliefs derive from the logical, it is faith without seeing, but derived from what I have seen, my heart, and what makes sense. Faith is logical. I comprehend life because of faith, because of logic. I have no wandering existential questions. I am not searching. I am found. And I understand why myself and others do bad things, and it is not because of faith.
Bueno. I come home in a day. I can’t wait to get started on this campaigning business but I also hope that I don’t lose my spanish! I’m not fluent, but I feel close. Although I can’t say completely it’s something you feel; it’s a strange thing, learning a language. In the process, your brain works in new ways. Anyway, I will see you all soon DV and I can’t wait!!!! ;)

Sarah! It looks like you're having an awesome time! It's very inspiring to see all the great pictures, it makes me want to travel myself. I hope you're having a fantastic time. Love and miss you.-Sydney Fishman
Syd! I am. Hope to see you soon! Maybe the festival this year eh? Perhaps I will have to make a stop in July ;) Love you lots.
A day in the market. With my days dwindling rapidly yesterday my host mom and I spent the day shopping in the market and trying some new things. Horchata (delicious!) and the traditional oaxacanan dish; mole with beans and rice and of course my favorite.. corn tortillas. It was a good day; I bought lots of gifts ;)
Today it was cold. I went to my roommates going away party and it seemed to get even colder (it was a bit sad). I have one week left here and the cold weather (68 degrees maybe?) is making me think of home. I will be freezing when I get home!! It’s been 80 here everyday and I can’t say I hate it. I do at times say that I am tired of the sun and that I miss the cold but I know when I get home it will take me a whole hour to regret those words. My spanish has increased tremendously but I still have so much to learn. What an experience.
On the other hand, I can’t wait to be home and bundled up next to the fire with hot chocolate, cookies and delicious recipes to fulfill. ;) This year, I plan on baking more than ever; if you’re lucky you’ll get a taste.
